Cookie Policy
Last updated: 12 August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Cave Direct Technology Ltd, trading as OrbitBay (“OrbitBay”, “we”, “us” or “our”), uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit orbitbay.co.uk.
It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use and protect personal information.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your computer, tablet, mobile phone or other device when you visit a website. Cookies can help websites work correctly, remember choices, keep products in a shopping basket, improve security and provide information about how visitors use a website.
We may also use similar technologies, including pixels, tags, local storage and other technologies that store or access information on your device. References to “cookies” in this policy include these similar technologies where appropriate.
2. How we use cookies
OrbitBay uses cookies and similar technologies to:
- operate our website, shopping basket and checkout;
- remember your preferences and cookie choices;
- keep our website, systems and customers secure;
- support order and payment processing;
- understand how visitors use our website;
- identify errors and improve website performance;
- measure the effectiveness of advertising and marketing campaigns;
- display reviews, videos and other third-party content; and
- provide and measure relevant advertising where you have consented to it.
3. Types of cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website and services you request to operate properly. They may support features such as the shopping basket, checkout, customer accounts, website security, fraud prevention, payment processing and remembering your privacy or cookie choices.
Because these cookies are necessary to provide the website or services you request, they do not normally require consent and cannot generally be disabled through our cookie preference controls.
Analytics and performance cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors use OrbitBay, including which pages are visited, how visitors move around the website, whether errors occur and how different parts of the website perform.
This information helps us improve our website layout, navigation, content, performance and overall customer experience.
Where consent is required, analytics and performance cookies are only used after you have provided the appropriate consent.
Functional cookies
Functional cookies allow the website to remember choices you make and provide enhanced features. This may include remembering your region, language, preferences or interactions with embedded content and other website features.
Some optional website features may not work as intended if functional cookies are disabled.
Advertising and marketing cookies
Advertising and marketing cookies may be used to measure advertising performance, understand whether you completed an action after clicking an advert, limit how frequently an advert is shown and help make advertising more relevant.
These cookies may be set by OrbitBay or by our advertising and technology partners. Where consent is required, these cookies are not used until the appropriate consent has been provided.
4. Cookies and services used on OrbitBay
The exact cookies used may vary depending on the pages you visit, the features you use, your consent choices and the applications and integrations currently enabled on our Shopify store.

Cookie names, functions and retention periods may change as our website, Shopify platform, applications and third-party services are updated. Cookies may last only for the current browsing session or may remain on your device for a longer period depending on their purpose and the provider's settings.
5. Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to help us understand how visitors interact with OrbitBay and to identify website errors, confusing navigation and other areas where the customer experience can be improved.
Clarity may recreate website interactions such as mouse movements, clicks, taps, scrolling and navigation. A session recreation shows interactions with the website; it is not a recording made using your device's camera or microphone.
Where consent is required, Clarity cookies and consent-dependent tracking functionality are only enabled after the appropriate consent signal has been provided.
6. Third-party cookies and technologies
Some cookies and similar technologies may be provided by organisations other than OrbitBay. These are commonly referred to as third-party cookies or third-party technologies.
Third-party services used by OrbitBay may include Shopify, Microsoft, Google, Trustpilot, payment processors, delivery integrations and customer-support or website applications.
These organisations may process information collected through their technologies in accordance with their own privacy and cookie policies.
We do not control every cookie or technology operated directly by a third-party provider. However, where required, we take reasonable steps to connect optional services to our consent-management controls and ensure that consent choices are communicated appropriately.
7. Managing your cookie preferences
When you first visit OrbitBay, you may be shown a cookie banner or privacy control that allows you to accept, reject or manage optional cookies.
Where consent is required, optional cookies will only be used in accordance with the consent choices you make.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by reopening the Cookie preferences control available on our website. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
You can also manage or delete cookies using your web browser settings. Depending on your browser, these controls may allow you to:
- view cookies stored on your device;
- delete some or all cookies;
- block cookies from particular websites;
- block third-party cookies; or
- receive a warning before certain cookies are stored.
Blocking or deleting strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the OrbitBay website, shopping basket, checkout or customer account from functioning correctly.
8. Legal basis for cookie use
We use strictly necessary cookies where they are required to provide a service you have requested or to operate essential website functionality.
Where UK law requires consent for other cookies or similar technologies, including certain analytics, functional, advertising and marketing technologies, we seek your consent before using them.
Where information collected through cookies constitutes personal data, our handling of that information is also subject to applicable data protection law and our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our website, applications, service providers, technologies or legal obligations change.
The latest version will always be published on this page together with the date it was last updated.
